Job Title: Driver Departments: Syracuse, Scranton PA, Burlington VT
The Driver will load and unload their truck at the branch for local deliveries. This person will drive our trucks with pride and safety in mind at all times showing the public that we have pride and respect for those around us.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Load truck for delivery.
Pull customer orders, branch transfers and receiving new product.
Create service orders for welders, torches and regulator repairs.
Follow the process of receiving a customer complaint, diagnose the cause, determine the correction, make a recommendation.
Maintain the truck and paper work in a clean and orderly condition and follow prescribed safety.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION STANDARDS
High school diploma. Must have at the time of hire, and maintain throughout employment, a valid NYS drivers’ license free of major infractions. This position requires a Class B with HazMat license and air brake.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Ability to work independently with minimum direction.
Ability to enable a cooperative work environment.
Excellent organizational skills.
Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
Ability to understand direction and follow standard operating procedures.
Must possess excellent customer skills.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Driver does not have any supervisory responsibilities.
EQUIPMENT, MACHINES AND SOFTWARE USED
Ability to operate a Truck computer, printer, photocopier, telephone, fax machine, calculator.
Computer Software: Microsoft Outlook or Express, Word, Excel.
Ability to wear safety glasses, safety shoes, gloves, hearing protection, and face shield.
MENTAL AND VISUAL REQUIREMENTS
Moderate mental and visual attention required for performing manual work.
PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES AND REQUIREMENTS
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to sit for extended periods of time, walk, talk, hear, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, push, pull, lift, use fingers, grasp, feel, and perform repetitive motions.
Ability to exert in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, and / or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently, and / or in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
Work is performed in a outdoor environment. The worker is exposed to temperature changes (inside and outside), noise, dust, orders, fumes, oils, vibration, hazardous materials, potential for physical injury, and proximity to moving mechanical parts and vehicles.

Candidates must have an understanding of electrical components and their function, VOM meters, proper use of voltage to power source, reading schematics and using hand tools.

Candidates must be able to read schematics and have experience with gasoline engines.
